This past week was my first week of classes! In Spain I only have class Monday - Thursday! On Monday and Wednesday I have a culture of food class and a contemporary literature class. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I have a contrastive grammar class and an anthropology of sports class.
Overall my first week of classes went well. My contrastive grammar class had 55 people in it! Coming from a small school, 55 people is more than overwhelming! Luckily they are now going to split the class into 2 groups so that will help!
Taking notes in Spanish is a lot harder than I thought it would be. In these classes I not only have to understand what the teachers are saying, but then I have to figure out the correct words to write down! In the states I am normally the person who raises her hand all the time and answers all the questions. Here, I am terrified to be called on. I have to plan out everything I want to ask or say about at least 5 minutes in advance! I'm sure it will get easier, but right now it is a struggle!!
